Bike Week Camping Info - Riding Rules

Camping in Odessa Area

In Town: Odessa Golf Course - 19 full hookups spaces - no tent camping. West end of town Hiway 28.
Call 509-982-0093 for information/reservations.

Camping outside Odessa:
Jerry Schafer is allowing you to camp on his property 1 mile south of town just west of Highway 21. Directions: (link to a Google maps direction from Seattle and one from Spokane to the site across from seed plant) This is dry camping. There is no water or power available at the site. We will have a few porta-johns.

  • NO Fires. This is a dry grass parking area. We'll mow it, but it's still flammable.
  • NO riding without helmets. It doesn't matter that you are only going to the porta-john. Wear a helmet or walk.
  • NO speeding in the camping area. 1st gear only.
  • Do NOT pop wheelies or do other destructive/stupid things in the parking area.
  • Fee: Free. We will, however, gladly take donations to help cover the costs of course work (I have to fix the course every year), mowing the parking area, porta-johns and everything else going into this event.
  • Riding is ONLY allowed on existing trails. There are a couple of dirt or sand pits that you can free ride at, all other areas are existing trails only.
  • No riding in the commercial gravel pit to the south of the parking area.
  • If you break it, fix it. If you are riding anywhere on the course and you take out a post, take the time to bend it straight. If you kick a log, tire, or rock off of the endurocross course, put it back where it goes.
  • If you see anything broken, stop to fix what others messed up.
  • If you see anyone riding in areas that are clearly not there for that purpose, or tearing up the roads etc. stop them and ask them to quit. If you can't police yourselves we'll have to kick people off of the ground or send them to jail.

The event is NOT officially a part of the Chamber's Odessa Bikeweek, nor any Stumpjumper Motorcycle Club event. A small area will be designated to demo rides from the manufactures that will be bringing dirt bikes, quads and side by sides. The rest of the land use is purely a donation by the local land owners and is for your benefit.

This is an unsupervised location. Camp and ride at your own risk. We'll try to keep an eye out for abuse and stupidity and eject those people. However, if there is any injury or damage to yourself or your property it's your issue to deal with, not the land owner's or anyone helping at the site.

The land owners have the final say over what happens on the ground. Abusers of this privilege will be evicted from the site.
