The Odessa Historiches Museum has special exhibits during each of Odessa's festivals. The museum is open on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. from Memorial Day through September and on certain holidays. The museum can be opened by members of the society upon request.
Horseshoe pits are located on the grounds of the Odessa Historiches Museum. There are two annual tournaments each year-- one during Deutschesfest and one at Spring Fling. The rest of the year, the pits are open to anyone for play.
Trap shooting is an early spring activity. The season is climaxed by the Odessa Gun Club Registered ATA Trap Shoot which is held the last weekend in April.
The Town's water recreation complex features a main pool, a smaller pool with a water slide, a children's wading pool and spa. The pool season is from mid June to the end of August. The facility is located at Reiman Park, which also has playground equipment, picnic shelters and a barbecue fireplace. The tourist park, which is only a block away from Reiman Park has camping and restrooms.
Finney Field, home to the Odessa Tigers, has a covered stadium, and is the scene of many recreational events. The baseball complex with its shade trees is used from Spring to late June. Odessa has excellent lighted tennis courts that are open nightly until 10 p.m. The courts are open to the public, but maintained by the Odessa schools.
Ducks Unlimited has its annual Goose Pit Steak Feed and Auction in May. Also in May is the Odessa Healthcare Foundation Annual Wine Tasting Party. The alumni has its annual banquet in June.
The Rider's Club Wild Game Feed and the Odessa Lion's Club Turkey Carnival are events in November.
Besides all the activities taking place all year long, Odessa is a great place for runners, walkers and bicyclists. The Crab Creek Trail provides a two-mile scenic course east of town.
The Odessa Public Library sponsors a Summer Reading Program June through August, and is open to serve patrons ten hours a week. It provides Internet access to its customers and offers inter-library loan service.
Also, the Summer Recreation Program offers many free-of-charge activities to both adults and youths such as canoeing, scavenger hunts, crafts, a camp-out, and reduced rates to baseball games and other fun activities.
